SEAI Heat Pump Grant
up to €12,500
The SEAI heat pump grant is worth up to €12,500 in 2026 — nearly double its previous level — for replacing a fossil-fuel or electric heating system with a heat pump.
Do it in the right order
The biggest grant is the heat pump grant — but a heat pump only works in a home that holds its heat, and the technical assessment is where most homes fail first time. If your insulation is poor, insulating first is not a delay: it is the step that unlocks the larger grant afterwards. Solar is independent of both and can be done at any point.

SEAI Solar Electricity Grant
up to €1,800
The SEAI solar electricity (solar PV) grant is worth up to €1,800 in 2026 — €700 per kWp for the first 2kWp, then €200 per additional kWp up to 4kWp.
SEAI offers grants for attic, cavity wall, external wall and internal wall insulation. Amounts vary by measure and by whether you live in an apartment, a mid-terrace or a detached house.
