The ruins of this old Church of Ireland building are located on Castle Hill, a site that was formerly an ancient Celtic hill fort. The church walls remain standing to roof height, and an ancient burying ground surrounds the ruins. An older church is believed to have existed on the site, with the Savage family building a church there in the late 13th century. This church was later restored in 1761 before being abandoned for a new site in 1847.
