Kevin Sykes Violins, a Retail & Shops business in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, makes and repairs violins and violas. They craft handmade violins and violas from selected tone woods, taking commissions. They also stock and refit good quality second-hand violins, violas, and cellos, and buy or part-exchange older instruments. Imported handmade instruments are also available, hand-finished in the workshop. Expert repairs, restorations, tonal improvements, and advice on upkeep are offered for bowed string instruments. A bow re-hairing service is provided. Accessories such as strings, fittings, bows, and cases are stocked.
